Book Proposals, Query Letters, and Synopses
Generally with a book proposal or query letter, the author has come to me with a stack full of notes, and a concept; or the last book they wrote for the specific publisher (or unknown publisher); or they already have a complete proposal/letter/synopsis completed. In any case, I always advise them that proposals, letters and synopses are very specific. Publisher A and Publisher B are not looking for identical texts, so you should not be sending them identical documents.
