Scripts and Screenplays

Lucky for writers, a screenplay has a lot of white space and has fairly strict formatting rules. That means that a lot of the screenwriter's work is done before a word is typed. There are some basic rules about screenwriting--For example, don't waste time writing what's inside character's heads. Remember when you're writing a screenplay that if its ends up on the screen, a whole lot of people are going to have their hands on it. (That's why they say a screenplay is written by committee.) Don't have your heart broken when the screenplay you worked so hard on is completely changed by the time it hits a screen somewhere. One more word. WGA Contract Agreement. 'Nuff said.
